I'm tired
by jade wolfe

I'm tired of all the lies
I'm tired of saying i'm sorry
I'm tired of being the first one to text
I'm tired of crying at night
I'm tired of not being taken seriously
I'm tired of being a distraction
I'm tired of everything being my fault
I'm tired of untangling the messes you make
I'm tired of pretending i don't love you

I'm tired ... I'm tired of you

This is Jade's poetry. Go ahead and see her other poetry cause they're very good poems that me fangirl. OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK bye!

Positivity!

My year decided (with the assistance of our R.E teachers. Hello if you're reading this!) that we would try to get an amber flag for the school. Amber flag represents positive mental health. Our aim is to increase awareness, social support and reduce bullying and isolation. We created a committee (which ended up being all of TY!!) and decided to organize an amber day which would be full of positivity.
Our Amber Day was last Friday the 4th of December. We decided to have a bake sale, busking and face painting. On Friday we wore amber and we spent the day in the library talking, organizing and singing. It was a day full of laughter and singing. We all took photos and we launched our website. The Liffey Champion came to capture this moment. Everyone in our year baked so we had a lot of goodies! and all the money we made was donated to Suicide Aware and Pieta House. I helped to paint peoples faces (I wasn't very good)
The day ended with the whip and nae nae and Adele while we cleaned up.
This is our TY religion website check it out!

Sleep time aka Mid-term break

After a long and adventurous term, I had a week off. We got our mid-term break on Friday. We dressed up in different costumes according to our year, my year was superheroes and villains. I dressed up as Spider-Man (the best superhero) and that night I went to a party (Yes I try to have a social life). The whole week after that night was pure relaxation because I'm kinda lazy. I did however go to see the new James Bond movie which was very long and confusing but I started to understand it after getting mini descriptions from my family during the movie.
On Halloween I dressed up as a prisoner and went to my friends house for the night. I didn't go trick or treating, I really wanted to go but apparently I'm too old (cue child tantrum ) so I just robbed my friends sweets.

^^^^^ The squad is on point^^^^^

English class adventures

On the 8th of October (the day after I got my braces off yay!)  we went to Dublin on an English trip. We split into two groups and my group went to the WW1 exhibition first.  I love history so I was excited. We went around the museum and looked at primary sources from the war such as letters. I spoke to the speaker and he told me about some information about the factory workers and where they lived. We then went to the national library to see the W.B Yeats exhibition. We were shown all of W.B Yeats early poetry and we learnt about his family life.
After going to both exhibitions we were given an hour to go around Grafton Street.   I went to McDonald's (who doesn't love their food? Big mac= happiness) We met up after I went to Starbucks (gasp!) and we all listened to a band busking on the street. It was really fun because we were all singing, dancing and cheering really loudly.
We also met the president!!! (There is a picture below)

Of course I had to get Starbucks. It's PSL season!

This is my mini squad, they're kinda cool.

WE MET THE PRESIDENT (I'm the one who looks like a lunatic in the back)

History Trip!!

For our history we didn't travel very far as we live in a historical village. We went to Castletown and were brought on a tour around the house. Most of us could have given the tour ourselves because we had been there all of our lives! We took photos of Mr Connolly's statue and we learnt about the different owners of the house, Walking back down the avenue was beautiful because it was the end of Autumn so the leaves we falling off the trees and it was cold so we were all wrapped up in our coats and scarves. This didn't last very long as it started to rain, typical Irish weather!

This is the avenue^

Here are some movie worthy stairs^

Anti-bullying Week

One week every year my school focuses on promoting friendship and anti-bullying. The week is filled with lots of activities to help people who are being bullied. Each morning a quote about friendship is said during the announcements. There are posters around the school and at the end of the week we have a fun walk. The name sounds very cheesy but the day helps to form unity and friendships around the school. Each year has a color and we have to make a performance to perform in front of judges (usually the principal and teachers) and the whole school. The whole school gathered together in the tennis courts. It sounds intimidating to perform in front of the whole school (about 800 hundred people!!) but it helps to make everyone comfortable in the school environment, especially the first years and new people.

This colors for each year are:

FIRST YEAR:     Pink

SECOND YEAR:  Purple

THIRD YEAR:  Green

TY(ME!):    Yellow

FIFTH YEAR:   Blue

SIXTH YEAR:   Black and White

Becoming an artist?

On the 24th of September my year and I went to Kilkenny. We went to see a movie called "Song of the Sea" which we watched in a reserved movie theater. After that we went to Kilkenny castle to see an exhibition on how they produced the film. We all gathered together for an endless amount of photos and also some other people took our photo too (it was like a photoshoot with many hyper teenage girls)

Again I tried to take a cool photo (as you can see by my coffee cup I like coffee, very very much.)

Carlingford Adventures

Each year TY's go on a trip to Carlingford in Lowth. This trip is one of the best experiences in TY and is a way to get to know our year group. We traveled to Lowth on Thursday morning (bright and early) and spent the night there.  We played many games on the trip in the woods to do with teamwork, it was very scary letting someone walk you around blindfolded. We also went pier jumping! It was amazing! Then we went canoeing to the water trampoline. Everyone was pushing each other into the freezing water ( it was absolutely FREEZING!) I was pushed into the water many times but sadly I never got my revenge as we had to head back to the center.  That night we indulged in lots of chocolate and crisps after a long day.

The main street. I tried to take tumblr photos with Marion, go check out her blog!  (marionstyblog.blogspot.ie, yes this is a promo)

The moment of truth.......RESULTS!

3rd year is the of the Junior Cert. My whole year was spent studying and preparing for the exams at the end of the year that represent all of my hard work over the previous 3 Years. On the 9th of September I received my results, which represented all of my hard work and endless amount of coffee with my friends. I was delighted with my results and was excited to go out and celebrate with my friends. I received my results and opened them with my friends in our school hall. Once i saw my results I jumped on top of Marion (She will probably be mentioned a lot in my blog, # notsoz)
That night I went over to my friend Emma's house to get ready for our night out.

What is transition year?

Transition year, in my opinion, is a year out of stress and worry that comes from school exams. Transition year is a year to explore after school activities and to make new memories. Transition year is optional in my school and this year we have a year group of 58 students. Our year is split into 2 classes, Lagarde and Merkel. We are named after two powerful women in our world today. We have been on many trips this year to Carlingford, Kilkenny and Dublin.
